“Selkirk Boy” is the 4th single release from 6 piece Glasgow rock band Red Hearted Vibrations. Selkirk Boy is the bands tribute to Frightened Rabbit singer/songwriter Scott Huthinson who sadly took his own life in May 2018. The band are influenced by Scott’s work and took the decision to pay homage to the singer in a way that would not only reference Scott, but by raising mental health awareness and the importance of being there for friends and family when times get tough.
The song was recorded at Shadow Sound Productions in Greenock by James Mackenzie – who during the recording process had the chance to share his own recollections of jamming with Scott in his teenage years. This has added extra meaning to the song for the band who perform the song live with passion and energy – often the opening song in the bands set list!
We hope that you enjoy the song and encourage you to share the song to allow its meaning and tribute to Scott to reach as many people as possible.
