about
I'll Be On The Mountain is the 5th single from Red Hearted Vibrations.
Written by Scott Brown - ‘I’ll be on the mountain’ was written on a piano in the hallway of an attic flat in Stirling. Written after a long winters night when out of the blue the girl who he had been living with, got up and left - leaving Scott feeling a little lost. The theme of the song focuses initially on betrayal but towards the end turning more positive with the promise of hope.
lyrics
Iʼll be on the mountain
You donʼt laugh or cry the
same no more you numb it
all with alcohol
I donʼt feel like, I know you at
all
There was a time I would go
your way
Do anything to make you
happy
It doesnʼt make me happy
anymore
Iʼm through with loving you
Itʼs sad but itʼs true
Iʼm through with loving you
But there will be a day, when
you will look around
and Iʼll be on the mountain,
youʼll be on the ground
Yeah there will be a day,
when you will look around
And Iʼll be where youʼre now,
youʼll be on the ground
Iʼm through with loving you
Itʼs sad but itʼs true
Iʼm through with loving you
By the time you hear this
song
Iʼll have packed my things
and gone away, away alone
But if in time you understand
You still wanna take my hand
well donʼt, just leave it alone
Iʼm through with loving you
Itʼs sad but itʼs true
Iʼm through with loving
Oh but it makes me happy
happy to know, you let me
go
And you wonʼt be around,
around to bring me down
Donʼt bring me down
Donʼt bring me down
Donʼt bring me down
Donʼt bring me down
But there will be a day, when
you will look around
And Iʼll be on the mountain,
youʼll be on the ground
Yeah there will be a day,
when you will look around
And Iʼll be where youʼre now,
youʼll be on the ground
